  • debbie mitchell, Administrative lead teacher for K2 and K3 classes

Hello. My name is Debbie Mitchell. I was born in Oak Harbor. My dad was in the Navy, so I got to experience life off the island with wonderful summers visiting my grandparents here. My senior year of high school I got to come home to Oak Harbor, got married and raised my family here.

I have been serving and teaching children since I was 19 years old during Sunday School and Children's Church. During a move to Iowa for my husband's job, I served as Interim Preschool Director at Westview Church Preschool and then as an assistant teacher. I have loved teaching preschool ever since. It is such a joy to provide a fun, safe place to explore, learn, and play.

I look forward to what this year has in store as I get to know your child and help enrich their lives at Grace Community Preschool. What a great year of growth this will be!

Hello. My name is Samantha Welch. I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach your children this school year.

I was born and raised in Oak Harbor. I have two brothers who are both older than me. I recently graduated from Oak Harbor High School and am now attending Northwest University through their online program at Living Word. I will be an intern at Living Word throughout the year, and I often volunteer with their children's ministry.

Looking forward to a great school year!
